We love cast iron, but have only experienced using a 12 inch pan. When I saw this reversible grill I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out the griddle burners on my new stove. The pan itself is good quality. One side has the ridges for things like panini style sandwiches or items you don’t want sitting in their own grease. The other side is smooth for things like eggs and pancakes. We make eggs daily, so that was my mission. The griddle itself was a little too short to span both my burners but I went ahead and warmed them both up. Eggs were perfection and cleanup was a breeze. One thing I did notice, though, when finished cooking was it was a little hard to get the griddle off my glasstop stove without either sliding it (which I didn’t want to do because of scratches) or getting my hot pad holders directly on the hot burners. Overall I am pleased with the griddle and the extra space I have to cook on it. I was tossing around ideas with my husband and we both agree this would be fun to use on a gas bbq grill or while camping. It’s a keeper.

I grew up in the South cooking in my mother’s and grandmother’s cast iron skillets and griddles that were as slick as glass and perfectly non-stick from decades of daily use. There are certain things that MUST be made using cast iron, like cornbread.
A few years ago I tried to buy my own and season it. No matter how many times I tried rubbing them with Crisco and baking them for hours, the seasoning would come off. So this pre-seasoned Utopia Cast Iron Reversible Griddle is a great find.
I’ve used it a few times and like these things about it: — It’s very versatile with a grill on one side and a flat griddle on the other. — My stovetop grilled fish, chicken, and vegetables now have those lovely grill marks. — The very generous size is perfect for cooking for one or many people. — The handles make it easy to transport (but don’t forget your padded or silicone oven gloves!) — Because it’s pre-seasoned, it’s ready to use right out of the box. — It cleans up easily by hand washing in hot water (never the dishwasher, which is the kiss of death for cast iron). — Unlike some of my bakeware, it’s oven safe to 500 degrees F. — The customer satisfaction, money back guarantee—no questions asked—signals it’s a quality product you can try without worry.

After buying a 5 burner gas grill I knew I needed to get a cast iron grill pan but hadn’t gotten around to it yet so when I received this one at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review I couldn’t wait to get grilling. Since we eat burgers in our house every Friday, this pan gets a lot of use. While cleaning it can sometimes be a daunting process it is so worth it for the great burgers that come off it. Some of the pros and cons of this pan that I’d like to highlight include: •Double sided so you can do burgers or stakes and get nice grill marks on one side and flat on the other so you can do pancakes •The grill ridges and grease catch channel allow meat fats to flow off and out of the way •Lots of space so you can do several pieces of meat, vegetables, pancakes, etc. at time •Nice and heavy and goes over a double burner so it heats evenly Cons •Heavy so it can be hard to store when not in use •Some meats need to be moved to the oven to finish cooking to avoid over cooking the outside
All in all if you don’t have a gas or charcoal grill at home in your back yard then you need this pan to bring the outdoors in

Overall I am pleased with the griddle and the extra space I have to cook on it. I was tossing around ideas with my husband and we both agree this would be fun to use on a gas bbq grill or while camping. It’s a keeper.

|Cast-iron cookware that will stand the test of time,
