My favorite waffle maker is the Waring Pro only because it is a little better made and it comes with recipes; although a few people said this one stopped working for them. For me it has always worked. The Krups waffle maker, which was the only one I purchased myself, is a dissapointment. However, this Hamilton Beach is a close second to the Waring Pro and the price listed as of this writing is about $7 cheaper. Below are the PROS and CONS:
PROS: – It makes nice Belgian waffles; just as good as my Waring Pro. A setting of 2-1/2 turned the waffles nicely brown. – The indicator light turns green when the unit is ready for the batter and when the waffles are done. – The waffle maker is easy to flip. – It has a collapsible handle for storage. – The waffle irons are easily removed for cleaning (something my other two waffle makers don’t have). This is a great feature. – Any spillage is caught by the plastic drip tray which is very easy to clean. – The waffle irons and drip tray are dishwasher safe as long as the SANI setting on the dishwasher is not used. I don’t use the dishwasher, so this point about being dishwasher safe was not tested by me but the instructions say this is possible so I’ll take them at their word.
CONS: – The unit feels cheaply made. – No recipes come with the unit. – The cord is 26 inches–short but typical of many appliances today. – Some of the batter I used got stuck in the creases toward the back of the unit where the waffle maker opens. That part is difficult to clean but no more difficult than any other unit I have. In fact, if batter is accidentally spilled in the creases, some will remain behind as a toothpick does not even get it out.
Based on my results, I do feel this belgian waffle maker is very good even though it does feel cheaply made. The removable waffle irons are a great feature because this makes the unit so much easier to clean than the other two Belgian waffle makers I have.

I have bought several waffle makers in my life. But this is by far, the best one yet! It is a new model. So, you probably haven’t seen many reviews on it yet. So, I thought I would get the ball rolling. 😉 As of this review, I have used it twice, and both times, the waffles came out great — light and tasty and with VERY LITTLE MESS! No “seasoning” needed! (If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry about it.)
One thing I recommend on ANY waffle maker is using “non-stick oil spray,” REGARDLESS of the claims of “non-stick.” There’s non-stick, and there’s NON-STICK! It NEVER HURTS to use the spray, and it ALWAYS ENSURES easy removal of the cooked waffle and easy cleaning in the dish washer.
I also love how the plates are easily removable and dishwasher safe and then pop right back into the machine. **Be sure that the plates are SECURELY back in their place, before turning on the machine!
Also, be sure to read the instruction manual for safety pointers! Other than that, ENJOY! It’s a great machine that makes great waffles!

I would like to say that I was looking all over amazon for a high quality single waffle iron that rotated like the ones in the hotels, had removable griddles for easy cleaning and would not scorch your waffles on a regular basis. I would like to say that this is by far the best waffle maker that I have ever owned. No matter what waffle recipe we have put in, if you set it around 2 and watch for the steam to stop coming from the side of the griddles you will have a perfect golden brown waffle. A note on the non-stick, so far they really mean non-stick. we have yet to have a waffle come out half stuck to the griddle. And my lovely lady has even forgotten to butter the griddles before a few waffles and it was never a problem. I will say that the first waffle is the most even in terms of golden brown. the consecutive waffles seem to be a little lighter towards the back of the unit. probably would even itself out if you were patient enough to let the irons even out in-between each waffle. just pop the griddles out and wipe down with a wet paper towel and put the whole unit back in the cabinet. I suggest following the directions with the unit, it kept me from making a volcano of waffle batter the first time 😉 Buy this, you won’t regret it!!!!
