I have had my Back & Decker Stainless Steel Convection Oven for a little over a year now. It replaced another brand that quit functioning much too soon. This unit gets lots of use from plain old toast to baking pizza, cookies, breads, etc. Always get excellent results. The controls are easy to use (once you read the manual)but you must do that to operate correctly. I like the preset features as they save me time. You can easily change the times from the preset if you are cooking something much different.

I noticed that some people were concerned about the heat but it does not seem to get any hotter around it than other brands I have had. It is a known fact that you must leave room around any toaster oven large or small. My unit is stacked on top of my microwave with space on all sides. There has never been a problem for me. One more nice feature is the fact that the crumb tray can be removed from the outside for cleaning. That way you don’t get the crumbs caught in the door like my previous ovens did when trying to clean.

Over all I would recommend this oven as it has been a joy for me to use.

I love this oven. I use it about 3-4x per week since i’m usually just cooking for 2. It’s great because the heat is even, I have found that I can use the convection function and bake at a slightly lower temperature and still cook in about 2/3 of the time it would normally take in a regular oven. I also like that it has a timer so that the oven just shuts off once the timer is set. It also has automatic settings for some of the most popular/commonly baked items like potatoes & pizza. I often bake sweet potatoes as a healthy, packable snack so I use the “potato” function and I never have to worry about it. I’m really enjoying this oven.

Finding myself in a much smaller living space, I needed a practical way to make meals and not have to eat out so much. After brainstorming and reading reviews, I decided to go with this Black & Decker countertop oven. It truly is a countertop oven and would be a disservice calling it a toaster oven. It’s compact, can fit (exactly) a 12″ pizza pan, and for the month I’ve had it I’ve baked chicken breasts (2-4 at a time) steak, bottom round roast and muffins. After learning how to cook with this since it is my first countertop oven, I can say it’s a lifesaver. The only downside is the outer top and side of the oven get very hot but I was aware of this after reading reviews. I simply keep things off of it when in use. I use that flaw to my advantage, I can keep a Pyrex of cooked veggies warm on top until I’m ready to serve them with whatever else is in the oven! Otherwise my oven mitt and kitchen towel reside there when not in use. It beeps when preheat is done and beeps when the cooking time you’ve selected is done. I like that it will shut Bake off when the time is up. I’m pretty busy and need to multitask so I like to be able to finish laundry or such and not have to worry about overlooking something by several minutes. I have not used the broil or convection options yet but I am looking forward to trying the convection function in the near future.
