Foods don’t burn and cook evenly!, October 27, 2015

I LOVE these BBQ grill mats! They are so easy to use. I turn on my grill and heat it up, then a few minutes before I throw food on, I turn the heat down to medium. I let it cool down just a bit, put the mat over the low flames and put the food right on the mat. When using the mats, we have the most tender and juicy meats we’ve ever grilled before. It’s also grilled evenly – no hot spots that cook it unevenly. I LOVE that it doesn’t leave a mess on my grates, foods don’t fall through and it never burns! It’s also completely non-stick, and we’ve never had anything get stuck to the mats. You don’t get the ‘grill lines’ on your food, but that doesn’t bother me.

Cleaning the mats is simple. You can either throw it on the top rack of your dishwasher or hand wash it. I prefer to soak it in the sink while we eat, and by the time we are finished, the mess scrubs right off – ready to use again the next time we grill. I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review and would absolutely recommend these to others. They are the BEST and we won’t ever grill without them again. FIVE stars!!

Excellent for baking!, November 12, 2015

I haven’t tried these on the grill yet but I can write a testment to how they perform for baking. To really test them i decided to use a very sticky white chocolate chip cookie recipe and do some cookie cutouts and some normal rounds of varying size and thickness. I did not grease the mats at all.

First I’ll talk about how they did during the baking process. I baked at 375 for 9 minutes and my cookies came out beautiful! No burned edges, no burnt bottoms, just perfect. Completely even doneness. I was extremely happy with how all three batches came out!

Now about the non-stick capabilities. All I can say is, “I am shocked!” Without greasing them or spraying them at all with cooking spray, they did not stick one bit. I even tried some slightly underdone, and they came off clean. I also overcooked some and still, perfect. They slid off with such ease. No more wasting parchment paper for me! These mats are now my go to for baking.

They clean up so easily too! I just took them to the sink after a couple minutes when they were cool to the touch and rinsed them with soap and water. I didn’t have to scrub, just gently rub the mat with a sponge and they came out beautiful. They air dry super quick or you can just wipe them with a towel and the water comes right off since it beads.

Overall I am super thrilled with these mats for baking. I can’t wait to use these on my gas grill so that I don’t have to scrub the grill anymore! I highly recommend these mats!

Please note that I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

These mats are great! I placed two in the bottom of my oven to prevent nasty burned spills. I was a bit nervous at first because I was afraid they would melt and burn up. They did not! I still have an extra to use on the BBQ grill for veggies. These will make an easy task of cleaning up the oven. I received this item at a promotional price for testing and to provide my honest review.

    I Love The Improvements, September 20, 2014

We previously owed a smaller George Foreman Grill and used it a lot for sandwich making and burgers. The surface was Teflon which was beginning to wear out and the grill itself was not that easy to keep clean. We did however, thoroughly wear it out. Enter the new George Foreman with removable plates! This is a wonderful grill. The service for five may be a stretch, but my other grill was like a service for one, so this is a larger, more workable grill.

I love the ceramic grill plates! These beat Teflon in my opinion. The ability to remove the grill plates to wash them in the dishwasher is such a cut above my last George Foreman. The plates remove easily for fast clean-up, no more cleaning the hot grill in all the nooks and crannies! This is a very nice unit with the red and green buttons for knowing when your food is done cooking. The black and chrome looks great compared to my previous white version. The service for five is probably more like a service for three unless you are cooking small, slider burgers or tiny steaks like the picture on the box, but it’s unlikely to fit five of everything you want to cook.

For the convenience of cleaning the grill, the ceramic plates and the ease of use, this is a great choice for a George Foreman Grill. The chrome and black accents on this grill makes it really nice looking and I am happy that these grills keep getting better and better. Our old grill had a small bread warming area that could be used for warming buns, but it got lost and was never used, so I am glad this feature is absent from this grill. I really can’t say enough good about the nonstick ceramic. I really don’t like Teflon because it can wear out and be unhealthy to use. The ceramic plates on this grill are sturdy and should be very long lasting.

This grill is wonderful for hot sandwiches, burgers, chicken breasts and a wide variety of food that can be quickly prepared with the George Foreman Grill.

My only complaint with this grill is that the cord is very short. It could be longer. With the cord the length that it is, the grill needs to be very close to the outlet.

Bought it for the removable grill plates. The surface area is only big enough for two hamburger patties. Smaller than what it looks like in the picture.

OK Grill with Nice Ceramic Plates, October 6, 2014

I received this to test in my own kitchen and write a review base on my experience. First off, this is my first experience with a George Foreman grill. I have only tried cheapie electric grills in the past. I think I had a $10 or $20 one by Sunbeam I bought with my roommate when I was in college. If I wanted to compare this grill to that one, of course this would win hands down.

I really like the removable ceramic plates. They are non-stick and feels of good quality. They are dishwasher safe.

Same as other reviewers, I don’t like the small grill space. I also think the manufacturer’s image is misleading. The picture shows they are cooking 6 steaks on the grill. I don’t think so. That might be a picture of 6 small boneless pork chops but even that might be pushing it. This might be good for two adults and a small child bit too small for a family with multiple or older kids.

The short cord is frustrating. I don’t like cooking under a cabinet and letting all the cooking fumes and vapor collect on the wood cabinets above. I wish it had a longer retractable cord like some of my other kitchen appliances.

There is only one heat setting. Turn it on that that’s it. Some people like how easy it is. More experienced cooks who want more control over cooking temperature won’t like this for sure. I kind of fall somewhere in between novice and sophisticated cook. But then, why would a sophisticated cook want to buy a GF grill, right?

The food is cooked at sloping angle. That’s the design of the GF grill. If you watched the infomercials, the slope is what makes the grease drip off your food. With the excellent non-stick cooking surfaces and the slope, reviewers have complained about their food sliding off the grill. I haven’t had much trouble, except when I make grilled cheese, the melted cheese does seem to ooze out in one direction.

Overall, I don’t cook meat all that much and I’m not crazy about this appliance. But I do use it occasionally to make grilled sandwiches and Paninis and it does a decent job at heating, browning, then releasing.

If you like electric grills and are currently using an older version of a GF grill or a cheapie one from another brand, this would be a nice upgrade for you. Otherwise, I don’t think this one is going wow you.
